Five Day Walking Challenge (10th-14th July 2017)

From Monday 10th July - Friday 14th July each class will be taking part in the

'City to Seaside - Five day walking challenge'.

Each pupil will receive an activity diary encouraging them to walk to school every day. This diary will also include a fun activity to be completed daily. They will be awarded  a sticker for each day they have walked. This sticker will be placed on a classroom wall chart.

At the end of the five days each child/class will earn their celebratory certificate as well as an individual reward magnet.

And it does not have to end there....

Every month we have a walk to school challenge which rewards pupils who walk to school once a week  (W.O.W.) with a monthly collectable badge. If you are living too far from school then 'Park and Stride'. (Find somewhere suitable to park at least ten minute walk from school and complete your journey on foot

or

if  you take public transport, how about getting off a couple of stops earlier and walk the rest of the way.)

Walking is a fun activity resulting in happier and healthier children so please encourage your family members and friends to feel the benefits of walking to and from school. Please have a look at  Living Streets website for more information and fun ideas and read how to keep your child  safe in and around

their local area.  (www.livingstreets.org.uk)

How WoW works

WoW is a year-round incentive scheme which rewards children walking to school at least once a week with a collectible WoW badge.

The badges are designed by the children themselves on a different theme each year through our annual badge competition.

The theme of WoW 2015/16 is 'My healthy planet', exploring everything from endangered species to ecosystems and renewable energy.
